Program:
Joe Hall's After School Care Program has a variety of activities planned for your child during the year. Come back often to see what's new in A.S.C.
Staff:
The program manager supervises group activities leaders that have been screened by Miami-Dade County Public Schools to work directly with children in groups.
Homework Policy:
All students are required to do homework during their allotted time. Activity leaders assist children to do their homework, however, they cannot force children to do so. As always, parents are responsible for reviewing and ensuring that homework is completed. Should you choose not to have your child do homework. Please advise in writing to to the program mananger.
Registration:
Every child must have a registration card. All information on the card must be filled in entirely. registration cards are not considered complete without EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you notify the program manager immediately of any changes in the parent contact and/or emergency contact.

Each child must present the following documents at the time of registration:

           1.  Purchase of school insurance (a minimum of $10).
           2.  Signed Financial Responsibility Form (Pick up in Office)
           3.  Registration card filled out entirely.
           4.  Payment for the service period.

* No child will be allowed to enroll in our program without all the above listed documents.

Insurance:
Upon registering your child, it is mandatory to obtain the MDCPS student accident insurance. No child may attend the A.S.C without school insurance. This is a supplemental insurance and does not take the place of family or individual medical insurance coverage. Registration will not be accepted unless all documents are completed, payment for the service period is paid and the insurance is paid.
Fees:
The cost of the After School Care Program will be $6.00 per day or $3.00 for story hour. The A.S.C. Program will accept cash, checks, and cashier checks. However, once a service period has been paid, there will be no refund or credit given for any unused days or withdrawals.

Late Payment Fee:

A late payment fee of $10.00 will be charged to each payment that is not paid by the due date posted on the payment schedule.
Late Pick up Fee:
A late fee of $10.00 per 15 minutes per family will be assessed for children not picked up on time starting at 6:00 p.m. Consistent late pick up may result in the child being withdrawn from the program.
Dismissal Procedures:
Authorized Persons ONLY: those persons listed on your child's registration cards are considered authorized for pick up. If a family member is not listed they are not considered authorized to pick up your child.
Pick Up:
Each child must be signed out form the A.S.C. school office by an AUTHORIZED PERSON listed on the child's registration card. A pass will be issued to pick up the child from the A.S.C. office. Persons not listed on the child's registration card are not considered authorized. The person picking up the child will be asked to present proper photo identification before the child is released. If the person picking up the child does not provide proper identification, we will not release the child. Minors are not authorized to pick up children with written consent on file.
Walk Home:
A written notification must be kept on file or sent the same day that your child is to walk home. Time of departure form the program must be listed. This notification must be sent by the child's parent or guardian via fax or dropped off at the office. Permission must be obtained directly from the program manager.

If there are any changes in the dismissal procedures for your child, daily or continuous, please notify the office in person or in writing immediately. This will help to ensure the safety of your child.
Illness/Accidents:

Medical Authorization:
Should your child require medication during the hours that he/she attends the program, a permission form must be filled out and kept on file in the A.S.C. office. Please notify the program manager should that occasion arise.
Behavior/Discipline Policy:
Guidelines and rules for the A.S.C. are the same as the regular school program and will be explained to your child. Rough conduct, disrespect to instructions, destruction of property or equipment, vandalism, and use of profanity, or any other undesirable act will result in disciplinary action and, if necessary, removal from the program. You will be contacted about serious and/or repeated misbehavior. If your child continually misbehaves, he/she may be withdrawn from the program.
