Parent Letter August/September 2009

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year. We look forward to another exciting year of learning at Joe Hall Elementary School. As an “A” school, we continue to be very proud of our students’ outstanding academic achievements, which were made possible by the commitment, dedication, and collaboration of the entire Joe Hall Elementary family—our students, their parents, and our staff.  With our combined efforts, our students will continue to develop self-value, respect for others and love for learning as they work toward excellence.

As parents, there are many opportunities for you to encourage and support your child’s educational endeavors and academic progress.  You may join the PTA, volunteer in the school/classroom, participate in parent/teacher conferences, and attend workshops offered at the school. The Parent Portal provides you with immediate access to your child’s grades and attendance. You may obtain your parent identification number (PIN) in the main office.

Attendance is a critical component of a child’s learning experience. With parental support, our students can participate in the learning environment each day. Learning begins promptly at 8:30am and concludes at the end of the school day.

Our Parent/Student Handbook contains important information regarding school policies and procedures.  Please review this information carefully and refer to it throughout the school year.

In closing, we look forward to educating your children and your continued participation on our team. Together Everyone Achieves More.

Sincerely,

Cathay Abreu

Principal
