CHILD STUDY TEAMS AND
INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT TEAMS
Students in need of additional support are
initially assisted through child study or instructional support teams. Parents
are encouraged to be active members of these teams. Meetings are held to analyze
students’ learning difficulties and to develop strategies to help students meet
grade level expectations as well as succeed in their regular education classes.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS
Joe Hall
Elementary is always looking for
parent volunteers. Parents
are the key to our success! The ongoing needs of our children present numerous opportunities for
additional assistance in the classroom and in out of classroom experiences such
as field trips. If you are interested in volunteering at our school, please contact
our school for more information.
There are numerous ways a volunteer can
help in school. Follow the link provided to learn more about the
different ways you can help out by Volunteering at Joe Hall.
All volunteers must fill out a Volunteer
Registration Form and have a background check to start services at school. You
can pick up a Volunteer Registration Form from our main office or simply print
one out from your computer. Please note, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print
any PDF file from home. Get Adobe Acrobat Reader Here
For the safety and well being of the children,
parents are advised not to bring additional siblings when volunteering
in the school. In addition, parents will not be allowed to volunteer
in their child's classroom. BULLYING IN SCHOOL
Bullying is a national problem. It is estimated that more than 160,000 children stay home from school everyday because they are afraid of being bullied. Bullying behavior is learned - from someone else. The child who bullies is
usually disconnected from their family, not just from classmates. Research shows
that many children who were once victims of bullying become bullies themselves.
They begin to copy the bullying behaviors, often going to extreme measures such
as fighting and even shooting.
